The Beat Generation Cloudcast
This post is a bit of a detour from the photographic theme of this blog. I have been meaning to put this mix together for months now, and decided to finish it as details about the soundtrack to the upcoming ‘On The Road’ movie release are slowly starting to emerge. Due to the fact that the second part of the cloudcast is mainly comprised of newer songs are included in here, describing it as a ‘soundtrack’ is actually stretching things quite a bit, but as all the songs I included are either by artists revered by Jack Kerouac, seemed approriate in theme to his work, or is by artists strongly influenced by his work I hope you’ll appreciate the relevance for inclusion.
In the cloudcast you’ll find a stylistically diverse mix of tracks that range from the Bop and Blues heros such as Charlie Parker, Dexter Gordon and Slim Gaillard admired by Kerouac, Ginsberg and the rest of the Beats all the way to contemporary artists such as the tracks by Jay Farrar & Benjamin Gibbard and the Low Anthem.
Clicking on the following link should take you straight to the mix:
