Warren Hall
This used to be No. 404, 115th Street, Morningside Heights, New York.
The building that once stood in the place that is now the parking lot you see in this photograph, was called Warren Hall Residence Club. Allen Ginsberg moved into Warren Hall in July 1944 and Lucien Carr lived there too. Kerouac moved in as well and his then-wife Edie Parker came to live with him in December 1944, but they moved to 118th Street soon after that.
Many thanks for the information I used above has to go to Bill Morgan for his splendid book ‘The Beat Generation in New York’, which has been a very good guide during my trip.
